October 5 @ 10:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Direct from Argentina, Sofia Viola takes the stage embracing her guitar or her charangón and feels her way from tangos to vibrations of the Andes, from milonga to happy cumbia, from rock to vallenato, from chamamé to blues. Her show professes unconditional love for Latin American folklore in all its dimensions. She tells micro stories of love, ecology and junk food. Her style was formed in the suburban tango, but she also draws from rock and the Argentinian “Tropical Wave” style. Her provocative, sometimes acidic humor leads the audience on a journey to discover the roots of Argentina through the fascinating characters and colorful landscapes that inhabit her songs.
